I am torn between Alphine CDA-7889 or Eclipse 8053/8443

I think my first choice will be an Eclipse HU, but where can I find them online?

I see eBay has some but I am looking for online retailer

Get either of the eclipse's and buy it from a local dealer .

 

Eclipse on the web is really hard. However, I highly recommend United Radio out of New York - 1-800-448-0944 - Ask for Paul.

I bought a 5962 off eBay for CHEAP, but didn't realize that particular unit needed a control module, power lines, etc. to interface with my 3413 (it should have come with it.) Mind you, this 5962 was made in 99, so I had very little hope. (later versions of the in-dash 6 disk didn't need all that stuff.)

But Paul had everything I needed - did the trasaction over the phone, and sent it out that day. If its Eclipse, they've got it.

 

It's known that while the Alpine's have a lot more bells and whistles, the Eclipse has far better sound quality. Its almost like Alpine know they have problems, so they throw in a ton of adjustments to keep you busy pissing with EQ.

 

I talked to Peter @ United Radio, and they actually don't carry the units but for repair only

Any other US retailer carries them?

Up here in Canada, none of them sells Eclipse

I purchased a new CD8061 (last years model) from them just two weeks ago. Brand new in the box, balanced line adapter, warranty, etc. If you're willing to buy last years technology, the price is right! Only had one left when I visited the store again last week.

If you into SQ, then you'll be happy with the Eclipse!

I am found a local dealer, a little pricy though but I will probably go with them since it is 3 years warranty!!!

I am so happy now, I need a pair of focal K2 to go with them now...
