Default carputer new installation

Hi

350z Okt 2003

I’ve decided to have a car pc and do the tape line in modification.
The pc part is taken care by the Asus ITX-220 + Intel Celeron 220 (DDR2) at 80€.
Its an itx motherboard with a Celeron cpu. If you add a 2,5” 320gb HD (60€) and 2GB of ddr2 ram (25€) you get a pc that can run windows xp decently and get all the privileges out of it (navigation , video , mp3 , rear cameras ) at around 175€. Add 18€ for the power supply converter (12v to atx) ebay.

ASUS motherboard

Now, as a screen (cubby) although everybody suggest the Farenheit T7000MHR screen I need a touch screen monitor so I consider the following

Headrest 7" VGA AV Touch Screen XGA TFT LCD Monitor 140€ inc p&p ebay
Model: HF701T
Windows 2000, XP and Vista are supported.
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
1. Display Method TFT (Active Matrix System)
2. Active Matrix TFT Screen Size 7inch 16 : 9 (Diagonal Length); (156W x 92H)mm
3. Power Input/Consumption DC (11.5V to 14.5V (600mA)
4. Native resolution 800 x 480. Supported Resolution up to 1024 x 768@75
5. Display dimension (152 x 92)mm
6. Overall monitor dimension (180 x 120 x 30)mm
7. Headrest mount dimension (198 x 138 x 30)mm
8. CCFL fluorescent back light Lamps
9. Contrast 250 : 1
10. Brightness 400 cd/Squa
11. High View angle L/R 150 degree
12. Operating Temperature: 0 to 40 C
13. Chromatic System auto switch PAL and NTSC at AV mode.

Q1: any points I need to consider before I order the monitor (power consumption, interference, size)
Q2: after the tape line in modification is the volume control on the steering wheel usable?
Q3: inside the sub space (behind driver sit) is there any speaker installed with amp or is just an empty space to place an after market sub with amp?
Q4: is it a better solution to bypass the stock sound system and get a 4 channel amp to power the 4 speakers?
Q5:Where can I find the speaker ends , is there any stock amplifier between the head unit and the speakers or they are power it directly from the boss unit?

thanks dimitris
