head unit wiring question
I just purchased a new Pioneer Avic d2, and a metra wiring harness. I have a 2003 touring bose. I installed two new speakers in the front stock location, a subwoofer, and one Jl amplifier. i ran the rca's for the front speakers and the subwoofer from the pre-amp rca outputs in the headunit. From the amplifier i ran the speaker wires to the speakers.
Now what do i do with the speaker wires on the head unit and metra wiring harness that are supposed to wire the factory speaker wires through the harness? Do i just tape them off, and connect the wires that NEED to be connected only? Also I tried to power my head unit and it did not power, but my stock bose still powers up so i don't have a blown fuse.

yes the speakers that are amplified will just be taped off at the harness...you probably didnt power up because the harness does not have a ground wire...you will have to chassis ground the unit yourself...you can technically get away with this by just plugging in the antenna but i would still ground it anyway
