Question subs vs. hp

i have a 03 z which i put a 9500 10" in the trunk and 1000.1 kicker mono amp which slams i might add.... but it has cut down my take off and horsepower feel quiet a bit... is there anything i can take off? spare tire etc? that would help out? or anything i could add thats not too costly to help revive my baby?

Tell you want. I will put as much effort into this as you have. Agree?

Do you track your car? If so take the advice of SatchScream. There are Molex connectors you can use to make the power and speaker cables plug and play.

If not, there are several ways to approach this issue.....

1) Live with the very minimal loss you 'think' you feel in your butt dyno. (What are you adding? 50 lbs max?)

2) Remove the sub/amp combo and regain your supposed hp loss, but lose your 'slammin' bass.

3) Remove some weight from elsewhere in your Z (a simple search will yield TONS of threads on shaving weight.

4) Sell your current setup and purchase a lighter setup.
