I have the same alarm installed. My red light blinks only when the after market system is armed, along with Viper blue LEDs.

Why don't you ask the shop that installed it?

I would install alarms for a living if I could get $500 for the install.

I installed my Compustar alarm/remote start myself, and I got this same result. I was thinking about just completely disconnecting that LED and using the LED supplied with the Compustar unit instead...

The only thing I can think of is maybe I hooked up the Factory-Alarm-Arm and Factory-Alarm-Disarm wires incorrectly (in fact...I'm not sure if I hooked them up at all).

I'm curious to see if anyone comes up with a solution to our problem.

You paid 500$ for an install, and your windows don't roll down now as well? What shop is this?

Well all figured out. Problem was the modual. I guess it was a newer version that had som ticks. Shops gonna swap it ou for the older and it should make the led work correctly and windows function.

the reason y your led is on is the factory impobilizer system. a lot of nissans do it. it sees the chip and no key in the ignition or something of that sort. there is a bit of a wiring trick using idatalink bypasses to interupt the led if you really do want piece of mind but it is doing no harm to your vehicle.

Would you say the Viper alarm is better then a LoJack system? I want to get a good alarm system for my Z, and I thought of LoJack. I see more Viper alarms then LoJack though

lojack and viper are complete different.

viper is an acual alarm.

lojack will locate your viechle when it gets stolen and so on.

IM HAVING MORE PROBLEMS with this alarm install!

door wont lock all the time? help?
lock sometimes.. dosnt lock sometimes.. but alarm will always arm though.

also sometimes it LAGS for the alarm to activate and doors to lock. wats up?
