Default Plexiglass Rear Amp Deck

I came across a photo of something I've been trying to do ever since i got my sound system. I love my amps, i paid a lot for them, and i figure i should at least be able to look at them rather than hide them under my seats. I have enclosed a picture of what I'm trying to do.

My question is: does anyone know a shop in Houston, TX that they would recommend to do the job. I've been quoted $350 by 2 shops and $900 (hahah yeah effin right) by another. My setup is exactly like the one in the picture. I have the 10" Zenclosure, JL 10W6v2 but 2 Alpine PDX Amps (4.150 and 1.600) instead of the JL amps in the picture. I wouldn't mind using the 2 shops that i have found but would rather go to someone that a Z Forum Member has experience with.

to be honest with you, thats not worth 350 bucks. I have a custom built enclosure that only costs 350 bucks. heres a pic of it.

Are you planning on removing your spare tire? The only downside to having your amps covered with plexiglass is they are going to get really hot, really fast. So expect them to go into protect mode and shut off after playing for a little while, because with no air circulating to them it will overheat quick. Good luck with your system, hope this helped!

You have helped me realize some issues but supposedly the Alpine PDX series is a low heat amplifier (in fact i've heard they emit very very low amounts) so i think ill be ok as far as temp goes if i drill some slots for ventilation. Yes i wil be removing the spare tire. This will cause a big problem if i get a flat though

For me its not my amp becoming hot from use, its more so the fact that its in a hot car when you park it outside in the sun, and then it wont cool off because theres no air blowing on it. Its up to you, but I would be careful!
