Has anyone had any problems with their Pac steering controls?

I have a 2008 with an AVIC F900 BT and after many hours, the stereo guy finally got the steering wheel buttons to work (minus track down). I guess I was satisfied with 75%. Well, when i went out to turn the car on the next day, all the steering buttons controlled different functions (Volume down would skip to next track). Went back to the installer and told me that despite searching many hours, he could not find anything as to why this would happen.

So my350z audiophiles, got any suggestions?
