I got the JVC KW-AVX820 installed. I LOVE it! Bluetooth built-in, ipod/iPhone control built-in, hd/sat ready, touchscreen, detachable face, expandable. I can say enough good things about it...

Yes, that's that horrible Tokyo Drift movie, but I had to try something out to make sure the DVD player worked! Next up, Viper alarm/remote start and Focal speakers/amp!

So far, I think it's AWESOME! I keep trying to take time to read thru the owners manual because there's a ton of crap it can do that I have no idea how to do, but the things I can do still amaze me! Gonna take some real learning time, coming from the stock pos to this. Overall, I'm very impressed and happy with my choice!

 

Looks very nice. I have a question for you. I can't seem to find a definitive answer anywhere else, so if you don't mind telling me, does the JVC unit display album art from an iPod? How about from an MP3 cd? How about from MP3 USB stick?

I understand if you can't confirm all of these, but if you could enlighten me on which ones you can confirm I'd appreciate your time.

Hey. the JVC will display iPod info, incl. album art as long as you're using the usb cable(not sure if this applies to the iPhone, since that's what I'm using)and the <iPod Artwork> setting is turned on. I haven't really tried that since the 820 has built-in bluetooth and you can stream music wireless(ly)from the iPhone! I really like that feature. I would guess that it would work with other usb devices, but I can't swear to it. I'm trying to find some time to really sit down with the owner's manual and figure what all this thing can do. When I come across that feature, I'll be happy to let you know!

 

Yeah, it does look good, and I'd love to take the credit for the install, but I didn't do it. Found a local kid who's been doing installs professionally for 5+ years. Only charged me $50, guaranteed his work, AND had it done, working, and setup in an hour! Nice kid, too. He'll be installing my Viper alarm/remote start in a couple of weeks...and he does engine work. Handy guy.

 

o wow, well thats a nice guy to have around. that what im doing next is installing alarm, but i haven't look at any yet.
