Default install oem navigation ??

I got a 2007 Touring with every option except navigation ..

is it possible to install the oem navigation if I buy this -

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-04...ht_3285wt_1165

I've searched and people say its a pain b/c you have to take a bunch of stuff out to wire everything up .. but I'm not worried about that

just figured if thats all thats needed then I'd rather have oem instead of a aftermarket double din style

am I missing anything major other than what is on the ebay listing .. also anyone got or know somewhere else I could buy the parts?

I didn't know either till I found that pic on google ..

I guess it would cost more than it was worth unless I could find a similar package from LKQ or somewhere for a 07 / 08 (maybe 06?) ..

no way I want to pay more than 800 .. I'll just get a double din touch screen for over that ..

There are plenty of options that you put a 7" screen in the cubby and run navigation to it. You would also be able to keep your stock head unit. Not that the Bose is a good radio at all, but you get to keep that stock look. I never liked how double din units fit in the Z. All dash kits have to have that ring of trim around the radio and it looks tacky IMO.

Search around the audio forum and you will see plenty of options.

yea i've seen a few setups that look ok

I don't have anything against the stock bose system .. its not the best thing on earth but I'm not going to replace it any time soon .. sub beats ok for what it is, and it turns up good enough

I agree on the double din units .. thats the one reason I wanted to go with oem b/c they do look a little tacky since the unit is squared off and the dash is rounded a little

plus the oem does look pretty clean

well I guess I'll just leave the idea for now unless I come across a newer oem navi system then I'll grab one

It's way too complicated to put a OEM navi in a non-navi equipped vehicle. Not even worth the hassle, that's why you do not see anybody doing it. You'd literally have to rip the dash apart.

Go with either the Farenheit screen + gps module or the Plenio VXA-2100 unit.

Here's mines with the Plenio VXA-2100 with OCN8 navi set up on it..touch screen and I am betting it works better then the OEM Navi software.

You can find it used on the boards or new they are 185$ for the 2003 cubby hole is what year the one that retracts like that unless you find the navi models which are motorized.

It's all touch screen.

a little late .. but

I already searched before I started this thread .. never found the answer I wanted .. I don't see why you couldn't install it if you got all the parts .. yes you would have to take most of the interior out but that isn't impossible

anyways ... guess if I want navigation I'll either

A) find and buy all the oem pieces for a 07

or

B) buy a aftermarket navigation and '03 or Navi Cubby to mount it in

Yeah unless you absolutely only want OEM (I don't see why it's not even the best). It's a waste of money to do an OEM Navigation. Should of bought one to begin with if you wanted it that bad imo.
