Stock HU - FM tuner wont come on
I drove my Z for the first time in a month over the weekend and the FM radio would not work. CD worked, AM works, but it wont switch to FM. If the radio is off or CD is playing and i push the FM button, the AM tuner comes on.
I the battery has died a few times the past couple months. I have been using a battery tender to keep it charged recently.
Has anyone ever had this happen? Is there a reset anyone knows about?

FM on my Bose won't pick up any stations all of a sudden. It fades in and out. I got behind there and checked the wires but nothing seems out of place
I haven't checked AM.
I haven't checked AM.

Check the AM as well - did you check the little tiny RF amplifier that's mounted in the trunk under the antenna? There's a little antenna booster back there and when folks change out their stock headends they often forget to provide power back there to light up that amplifier and get the sort of symptoms you're describing.

NP . . . i just thought it was weird. I could sort of expect the button to break over time or the entire thing stop working, but everything is fine except for FM. It will not swap over to the FM tuner. The FM tuner button pushes and clicks but activates the AM tuner so i know the head unit registers the button press. It is very strange.

AM/FM is all static and won't pick up any stations when I "seek." I'm going to wait until I get home before I start removing panels to get to the antenna. Also, at the same time my radio stopped working my clock stopped as well. It still reads the time and I can set the time but it won't roll over to the next minute.
Time for a replacement or upgrade?

From what I'm reading, upgrading the Bose HU is a pain without running a module. Maybe just replace it and add an Ipod adapter. BTW, it's always 3:50 in my car haha. I'm a dork.
