Talking VOTE for my sub amp

OK, I need some help deciding on an amp for my sub, so naturally instead of going to an audio shop, I turn here for assistance . I am only powering one sub, and will list the specs of it and the different amps below.

Infinity Perfect 10.1d
recommended power range 75-350 watts RMS (175 watts per coil)
peak power handling 1,400 watts
frequency response 18-200 Hz
sensitivity 94 dB

Amp choices:

Xtant 3.1
Watts per Channel 2 Ohm 300

JL Audio 300/2
Watts per Channel 300x1 8ohm in bridged mode

Rockford Fosgate Power 351M
350 W X 1 @ 2 Ohm RMS

Precision Power PCX-280
320 W X 1 @ 8 Ohm

Need some help here people, please...

ok for the real help.. i would go with the rockford.. im not a big fan of bridging multiple channels to push a sub... get a mono sub amp... the rockford should suffice

I'm biased also, go with the rockford. However if you want a 1 ohm stable amp, go with the JBL amp. Rockford is only stable down to 2 ohms.

JL 500.1 is a good sub also.

My .02.

Precision Power PCX-280 or the JL both give you the flexibility of of different ohm, setups with out loosing power... and I would remain running a 8ohm like you said you were. And there is nothing wrong with bridging an amp.. on a quality amp it will have no effect on performance

THe JL and the Xtant are the best on the list

I would avoid Rockford... they offer more punch then sould quality... yea I know the ratings.. but that is in a controlled enfiroment and when pushed they tend to start cliping. the JL and xtant will be stable througout their powerband

I would go with the JL but I am a little Biased....

300/2 Specifications:

Rated Power (stereo): 150 W RMS x 2 @ 1.5 ohm-4 ohm (11V-14.5V)
Rated Power (bridged):300 W RMS x 1 @ 3 ohm-8 ohm (11V-14.5V)
THD at Rated Power:<0.03% @ 4 ohm
S/N Ratio*:>108.5 dB below rated power
Frequency Response:5 Hz-30 KHz (+0, -1dB)
Damping Factor:>200 @ 4 ohm per ch./50 Hz
Input Range:switchable from 200mV-2V RMS
to 800mV-8V RMS
Dimensions:13.4"L x 9.25"W x 2.36"H

yes i agree with zand02max.. go with a jbl sub amp.. i am running two 12" perfects on the JBL 1200.1 amp at 1ohm... hits like a **** and is super clean

for 1 10" perfect you could use the 600.1 JBL sub amp.. you will like it i promise

600.1 won't work because I can't run the sub at 4ohms. Either 2ohms or 8ohms since its DVC. The 300.1 could work though...

umm yeah you can run the sub at 2 ohms on the 600.1 ... never hurts to have extra power .. if the amp is tuned right you will have better sound and less heat and distortion because the amp is not stressed as much.. i am pumping 1200w rms into my 12's that are suppsed to be 700wrms (combined) ... sounds great

the 300.1 will work also.. i just like to have more amp power than the speakers are rated for.. just my opinion though

I have JBL600.1's on my Infinity Perfect 10.1D's in my 4runner hit had... not the best SQ though.... and the higher OHM levels will typically result in less distortion... so for SQ the JL 300/2 is better but for value the JBL600.1 is the best (JBL and Infinity have the same parent company)

Definetly the Xtant. I'm not a fan of class D amps.

I am taken back that Rockford Fosgate made the cut and not Eclipse. Eclipse makes some of the cleanest sounding amps on the market.

Eclipse is very nice also. Perhaps just give us a price range and we'll suggest the best amp for the price.

I run the JL 500/1 for 2 10's and have plenty of power. Since you are only running a single 10, try the JL 250/1.

I am running the 250/1 JL Audio with a 10" w3 sub, and that thing is booming. I am pretty happy with it and no complaints whatsoever. Also my sub was put in the factory location.
