I should be able to extend the distance by 50ft at least!

I've never tried holding the fob under my chin. Will try it at least.

Something else that has worked for me is holding the fob next to some large metal object, like a dumpster or lightpole. Don't know enough about radio to even guess why, but it does seem to increase the range.

I actually can achieve around (possibly over) 50ft range distance... I've tried it with my garage closed and it works. I have to use the chin technique though.

I don't have a problem with the range. How about someone designing a smaller keyfob. That freaking thing is so bulky. While you at it ... can you combine it with the even bulkier key. Maybe you can use is as an external antenna

I've had my car over a year and the range of the keyfob has progressively deteriorated. I tried the fob that I have never used and was back to the original transmit range. Perhaps a fresh battery would be helpful to those with short transmit range.

An old battery would not make the range increase. If there were not enough power from the battery to send the signal then it would not work close or far away. Think of it this way: if your remote on the tv is not working, the closer you move in and the harder you push the buttons, it still wont turn on the tv.

But i do have weird range sometimes it works 8ft away and no more. And sometimes it works 30ft away. It’s got a mind of its own. It’s almost scary.

as voltage drops, the VCO Power output drops hence range would decrease.
