Default Non-rectangular Custom Sub Box - Issues?

This will be hard to explain in words, but here goes..

Currently I'm running the Zenclosures under-the-strut stealth box for a 1 10" Infinity Kappa Perfect sub. It's great, love it, except one problem: the sub box volume is only ~0.7 cubic feet, where I want it closer to 1 cubic foot to maximize the sub's potential.

I'm thinking about fabbing a new box that will also be under-strut, but expanding the back portion of the box (the space between the strut bar and the driver's seat) to reach my target specific volume.

My question for audio experts is: Is there any issue with doing this? What I have in mind isnt a rectangular dimension, as the outlet where the subwoofer face will be smaller than the backend of the enclosure. To the best of my knowledge, dead space volume generally doesnt take slightly-weird dimensions into account, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Advice much appreciated!

you mean a retangler box with a face plate for the under sturt area correct? Dude i have that right now and i hate it! lol i want my back trunk and the area after the sturt bar.

Also you build the box around the sub, not the sub around the box. If your sub say .7cubic feet then that all it will need, Unless you want to do ported which give you the lower hitting notes.

Right. My sub's specs are designed for a 1ft box, while my current box is only about 0.7ft. In other words, I need a larger box to fit my sub.
