Default Any Car Audio Geniuses Out There?

Hey guys, I just picked up my 2007 350z Carbon Silver Monday . It is an awesome car and it's very fun.

The seller gave me a sub enclosure, and now I want to add a simple 10" sub and amp to give the audio a little extra bass.

Now, I talked to a couple of people and boiled it down to two subs, JL 10" W3 or Alpine 10" Type R. I am leaning towards the JL, but I'm still not sure.

A couple of amps popped through my head, but also came down to either Rockford Fostage 500W, Alpine 500W, or MTX 500W. The rockford is 16x7" so it's a little too big to fit behind the seat, and the MTX is ehh, is the Alpine good enough to power 1 10" JL?

I want a nice, clean sounding 10" sub preferably all black like the W3, if you have any suggestions, please help me out as I'm not really the smartest on car audio.

The cheaper the better, but I also don't want a $40 Walmart Xplod Sub lol.

TIA Guys.

The two subs you mentioned are like apples and oranges one is sq and the other spl. From your post it seems theres a lot you need to learn before you start spend your $ I suggest going on caraudio.com for a few days. All the stuff you mentioned is kind of sub par equipment or not really used for your needs

Subwoofers are engineered/designed to fit inside a certain volume (cubic feet) which acts as a "spring" to retard the travel of the speaker. If the volume of the enclosure is too small the "spring" is too tight and the woofer doesn't travel freely enough and the acoustic volume and accuracy suffers. If the "spring" is too loose the woofer can exceed the designed limits of travel and the sound is sloppy and out-of-control muddled.
