Do I have to change the wires when replacing the Bose speakers?
Right now I'm using an aftermarket head unit with the stock Bose speakers. (using the wiring harness) I'm going to install non bose speakers and a sub. Can I use the existing speaker wire that is already hooked up? Does the bose system in the Z use amps for each speaker? Is it the same ohm wire? Also when I put in the new speakers do I need to remove the wiring harness?

there bose factory speaker amp is located in the rear drivers quarter of the trunk under the black foam beside the tire. you can get all ur speaker leads there though u run right by the rear speakers on ur way there so u mays well just run those wires direct. you could run new wire out to the doors if u wanted but it is a bit of a pain to get through the factory plugs. for the sub there is an amp located behind the drivers seat inside the sub cavity. as far as impedance goes its usually simplier to just replace the speakers and do it all as one step and install proper components in the front with a real crossover. as far as the harness goes u still can pull your power/ground/acc off that harness and then run wire for the speakers.
I did this while waiting the three weeks or so while my amplifiers were shipping. The amount of work is high ... just about as much as running proper cables, and you have to pull the interior apart anyways for the speaker installation so you might as well replace the wires. The doors were tricky but not all that difficult ... but I've pulled a few in my day.
Below is the solder job to by-pass the four channel amplifier.
