No AMP for me!
I called Nissan Consumer Affairs today and asked about the NTB 03-087 TSB and was told it did not apply to my VIN #. I had my radio replaced by Nissan a couple of months ago and it does sound better, but not as good as I was expecting. It is definitely not a "Premium Sound System"I will now go to the expense of an aftermarket amp and speakers. I don't want to lose the Voice Navigation so the headunit will have to stay. I know this is not going to be the best solution but I am hoping to get the system to sound better. Right now I have to take the treble to -3 and set ths bass to + 5 so that certain music will not physically hurt my ears. (anyone else experience this?) I am having my doubts about spending $2000.00 for Focal speakers, amp and sub install making this system sound right. But maybe someone in the future will come out with a headunit that will accomadate the NAV system and the rest of it will already be done.
good luck to the rest of you,

My VIN is not in the numbers within the original TSB, but my dealership's service departemtn got me a new amp several months ago. Now there's a new TSB or a TSB that supercedes the old one, and I have a feeling that they won't be getting me another one. I have gutted the Bose anyways, but if I ever sell my Z, I would like to have a properly working amp to reinstall. I will call the service departmetn this week, to see what they can do, but I have a feeling that since my VIN is not in the TSB, they will not be helping me out...
