JL Audio Help?
I'm not too good with car audio, but rather than going somewhere to buy everything I was going to use Crutchfield.
Has anybody had any experience with the W6's and W7's? Would two 15" W6's sound as good as one 15" W7, or vice versa?
Are there any other subs you recommend? And / or amps to match?
Thanks!

I'd skip Crutchfield and go with Sonic Electronix. You can't beat Crutchfield's customer service, but it isn't worth the 50% markup. I've never had problems with Sonic Electronix.
BTW, 2 15" W6's are going to blow your eardrums out.

How do you plan on putting two 15's in a Z? That is so much overkill. And dont use Crutchfield. You will pay at least 20-40% or more there.

unless you can find them used, or a local store still has some.
to the OP,
figure out ur budget before thinking about jl, you cant cheap out, be prepared to pay more for the same result, dont get me wrong i love jl, but im not ignorant. JL does inflate there prices but you pay for what you get.
ive never had a problem with my jl equipment, but im not paying regular price for my equipment, unless you find some good deals or you have money to Sh*t, then go for jl.
idk if i made any sense

Cool thanks for getting me in the right direction. Car Toys said they did make 15"s which is where I was coming from.
I'll try the Sonic place, any other shops that are good?
These are for my DD, not my Z.

I would stick with Sonic electronics or look through Amazon. I just got a JL10W3v3 Through Amazon for $139 shipped. Thats $100 cheaper than Crutchfield.

i have a 10" w7 in a zenclosures box with a 500/1 amp and it pounds. two 15 w6's would be ridiculous if you ran them off optimum power. probably break the glass in the hatch haha
but yeah one 13" w7 with a 1000/1 would be great in a z.
if you are looking to get jl definitely get the w7.

As for me, I went with wickedcas.com for all my JL and audio needs. They are a vendor on the forums here and they had a custom sub enclosure with 3 subs for like 699. (I got the 3 JL w3's which normally go for 199 each - do the math and its a pretty good deal). Also bought an HD750/1 mono JL amp to power it. I like it a lot, it pounds pretty damn hard, but not hard enough to the point where I cant hear anything but bass.
heres a pic.

^ Thanks for the info man. These are for my DD so space is not an issue.
I've been looking around and have picked up a fair amount of info. I'll have to check wickedcas.com out.
