Default Sub rattle?

So my sub was making a weird noise every so often, a weird rattling. I finally got tired of it, removed the sub, removed all the silicone (was a pain) and come to find my sub looks like this:

Would it be an issue if I ran the sub with out the basket and that little tiny mesh piece of metal at the bottom? I plan to put it back in, but without the basket, it looks like it is glued on, so hopefully it won't be a problem, just wanted to check with the experts first.

The plastic looking cup looks cosmetic only.

It's only a cosmetic thing. Had those on my Focals and took them off. No change in performance/sound quality.

The screen prevents loose debris from entering your voice coil. That's really never a problem in a sealed enclosure.

Of course you could just silicone it all back together too.

Sounds like a plan. I just checked with ups, they said it would be $200 to ship, lol.
