Default AVH-4200 wiring to non-Bose

Hi All,

This forum has loads of info! I haven't install a car stereo in years. But the non-bose system is better when turned off. I like to listen to music sometimes, so I just installed a Pioneer AVH-4200DVD along with new speakers front and rear with a Infinity Basslink behind the driver's seat. It now sounds a million times better.

This is a quick schematic of the interface between the stock 350z wiring, Metra 70-7550 harness and Pioneer AVH-4200DVD (it will work for other Pioneer models as well).

I used a spdt switch from Radio Shack for the DVD bypass, I didn't want to do the relay method because I would have to bypass it if I want to use the Auto Eq. I have a microphone on order, anyone have any experience with Auto Eq? There isn't much info on it's use in the manual.

hey man! were you able to get the MIC and hook up the auto eq while still having the relay connected? I wasnt and I was wondering if you found a working solution, like some kind of switch or something.

Didn't use a relay. A switch was used to enable the DVD function (light green wire) on the 4200. AutoEq works great!!

AVH-4200 and AVH-4300 harness wiring is the same. Black/yellow (mute) and violet/white (backup camera) not used. If you don't have an amp and don't hook up a camera. Use a spdt switch to connect the green wire from you radio harness to ground. Good luck.
