I installed my USA SPEC PA11-NIS last summer and it works fine. However, the unit no longer CHARGES my Ipod 3G or Ipod(s). Has anyone encountered this issue? Aspec says it might be the cable or unit...

I can still use the cable to play music with the unit but just no longer charges ipod/iphone :*

Also, i don't know if this has anything to do with it... but I did install the wheel mounted steering wheel controls on my 08 Base Z. I don't see how this would effect the USA spec from charging my iphone/ipod though... What do you guys think? Thanks!

 

I bought 2 PA15-NIS (1 for my Z and the other for my Pathfinder). One thing I can tell you is the customer servive of the USA-Spec guys. Call them and you will receive response almost instantly. I had to call them several times and I never was put on hold.
The number is on the back of the manual.

Did it always charge your 3G? The PA11 is the older model and isn't compatible with my iPhone 3GS but works fine with my older Nano.

 

yes it always charged my 3g. I have the newer cable. I'll go try to older cable with an older nano and see if it's either the cable or unit itself. I hope installing the left stereo controls (which no controls the radio stations/cd/ipod etc) didnt cause this problem... prior to the install, the USA/spec/cable worked fine. Probably a coincidence the adapter/cable is not working... but this is the last mod i did to my car.

 

I think I use to have the older version of the cable, cause mine when I had it hooked directly into the back of my bose hu never would charge my ipod, then when I put in my pioneer, bingo, it charges with the ipod adapter!
