Hey guys...I'm having and issue...I recently was taking out a gauge and on accident a 12v touched a ground and popped my main fuse under hood (60 am I think). I replaced it and now my radio stays on when I turn car off and take key out...and it will stay on until battery is drained...what I've been doing is just removing the head unit so it's not "on". Anyone ever has this problem?

It's weird...I don't think a fuse would pop from the radio because then radio wouldn't work.

Can anyone help please?

 

ur stereo appears to be wired in directly to the battery. dont know if it was like that before or not, but i would find it strangely odd if it WAS NOT like that before, and it now IS like that after replacing a simple fuse. i have a good feeling that the 60A fuse u refer to is in fact the main battery fuse, and now your radio is touching that circuit at some point along its path.

Normally this happens when you have the 12v wire and ignition acc. wires hooked up wrong.

 

Radio is wired thru the harness you buy that you just color code the wires....it's wired correctly.

 

There must be more going on here.

So how often are you removing the H/U? That doesn’t make sense. Why not just turn the radio OFF to test the connection.

If you turn the H/U to OFF, does it still drain the battery?

The first thing I would do is measure voltage on the red wire going to the radio. It should be ~0vdc with the key out and ~12vdc with the key in. If it reads like this you have damaged your radio, if it doesn't read like this you have a wiring problem.
