Default Multiple ACC tap

Hey guys I made a thread over in interior but I think a lot of you here know about the wiring internals of the Z doing audio/video installs.

My question relates to tapping the "dome light" (not ACC or Constant) power source.. the switch that turns power on only when the doors are opened or the keyfab unlock is pressed.

I need to run a good 4-5 accessories off of this source and was wondering if anyone has ever made a distro block for this... if so/if not what are my options?

I'd like to keep it as clean/safe as possible. I don't like the idea of tapping the same line 4 different ways or running 4 seperate taps for that matter, either. If one way or the other is neccessary I will figure something out. Ideas please!!!

Thanks in advance.

the dome lights have constant power on them.

Look at the fuse block in the lower left kick panel on the drivers side. You can pull fused 12v power that isnt on all the time.

Hadn't thought about just tapping the fusebox there. I guess I need to total up the power these accessories are going to pull and see if I can run it on one connection.

I would plan on running a relay off the dome light output if you are going to add that many accessories. The dome light is controlled by the BCM and is most likely a low current transistorized output.

Does the dome light dim on or off on the Z? If so, you will run in to issues with the relay buzzing while the lights are not on 100% due to the modulation used to dim the lights.
