You are crazy for not buying components... once you have the door off and go through that headache for just for just coaxials.. Dang man its like you asked for help everyone gave you great advice but in the end you did what you were going to do with a bigger amp (50w ...what????) Seriously not to poop on you but you wasted your money considering you'll want to upgrade that crap in a week and everything will have to be replaced...

+1. IMO, 10's or a 12 would be better... I picked up 2 Alpine Type-R 10"s, from another member. I lost virtually no trunk space, although I can't carry my spare anymore... But they sound amazing inside the Z. I also have the amp tuned kinda low, so they're not obnoxiously loud outside the car either.

The pic is from the last owner's Z, before it got moved into mine.

Stop with the kicker and jl. kicker sucks and jl is overpriced for what your actually getting. Get a set of sundown SA8's and change everything else on you list if going with a 10 check out. Lethal injections, Dc subs, DD or FI and if your on a budget phoenix gold rsdc. If you do go jl the w6 is a better sounding sub imo but just wait till you need a recone and they knock you over the head for it.

+1 buying coaxials was a waste of $. Infinity's stuff is sub par you could of bought some decent equipment for the same price. You could of gotten a decent set of components for cheap, the sub you bought isnt that great and you nought the wrong amp.

+1 for asking for advice and doing what you wanted anyway

Couldn't be happier with my 8 inch JL Audio W7. It's plenty of puch for the Z's small interior.

Personal taste is the biggest factor of what size sub will "do it" for you. Beyond individual driver size, it's more about air movement for a given setup.

I have six 5" drivers and am totally happy with it after almost 2 years.

for me 8's will be good in the kicks for mid bass

for you i think 1 8" will be fine
try ported

if you have not bought those 8" yet , then i say try 1 each Sundown SA8" ported at 35 hertz in 1 net cube , with about 500 rms

There's some amazing BS being spread here. Ya' all better get a refund because your engineering schools sold you a line of BS rather than an education in acoustics!

So most of us aren't from Missouri (the show me state) but we all should be to the "let me listen state". People dismiss decades worth of science, whole manufacture's lines, and years worth of beautifully sounding systems based on personal bias. I'm just saying take most of the advice here with a dB or two worth of salt.
