Default Bose Subwoofer Problems

I just bought my second replacement subwoofer today and am already having problems with it. After installing it, I kept the music down low and gradually increased it for about 15 mins and then I turned it up to the normal volume i usually have it at. I went to change my EQ settings and the subwoofer screeched and then played very loud static that sounds like thunder. When this happened, even after i turned it down it still sounded like the sub had blown out. Even at 0 volume it was crackling. I have an stock everything besides an aftermarket HU (Pioneer Premier) but I dont think that should affect the power going to the subwoofer. Is there something I am missing or did I not give it proper time to warm up?

There is a DIY on how to fix a bad amp, it has a lose connector. I had the same issue and it worked on my car, only took 5 mins.

Welcome.

1. The woofer amplifier is broken.

2. Feedback from woofer amplifier broke the head unit.

Is there any way to test the amp or the subwoofer to know for sure if that's the problem?

Feed a clean sine wave on pins 1 and 2, I'd try 0.25 volts to 1.0 volts, and measure the output with an oscilloscope on pins 3 and 4 across a 2-4 ohm load.
