Need some help locating the "SMJ"
Hi guys,
I'm am nearing the final stages of my install but need some help/advice on this. I installed a backup camera since I had the car ripped apart at the time. My touchscreen has an auto switching feature that will switch over to the aux video input when it receives 12V on the switch line. What I'm trying to do is splice into the backup / reverse light circuit coming out of the Super Multiple Junction (SMJ). I've spent more than my fair share in the passenger footwell trying to locate the SMJ but so far with no luck. I know that the wire is Orange and from Pin 22m on the SMJ Connector M72.
However I cant find the SMJ Connector! The diagram shown in the Service Manual shows the cluster of connectors but it doesn't seem to look the same as my car does!
Can anyone help me out with a picture, drawing, or just an eloquent description?
Many thanks in advance,
R
P.S. I've attached my system for reference.

I found the wire as it went back towards the back-up lights. Since my headend's "brain" was mounted under the passenger's seat I wanted a connection behind the seats. Since at the time I had the place torn apart for the installation of my amps it was easy enough to get to. The connector was behind the driver's seat sort of on the rear tire bulge. You could also hit it further forward in the plastic conduit tracks running under the kick plates.
Close up

Here's the whole cluster of connectors showing the four channel amplifier connectors too. This is the driver's side behind the seats and IIRC in the "trunk" vice behind the subwoofer.

You should be able to find the wire right in the drivers kick panel to where the wires run back towards the reverse lights. A volt meter and couple minutes of your time should find the correct wire.
Thanks for the responses...
It looks like I might have to try locating it on the drivers side. I'm going to try and have a look this weekend. I have the correct service manuals, see pic attached. From the lighting circuit diagram the orange wire runs from M72 connector on the passenger side over to M12 on the drivers side. It doesn't sound too hard to find really, I just have to find the right connector block!
I'll post some pics if I find it!
