Pac audio headunit install help
I recently bought a the pac audio kit to install my poineer hu on my 350 with bose and nav and got it all hooked up correctly according to the directions and I get no sound to any of the speakers. Can anyone help me out. I have installed at least ten stereos and never had this much touble.
Did you replace speakers ? - if not, I've always heard Bose speakers have different OHM ratings and can't be used with other HU's. Speakers need to be updated as well. you may want to check the audio DIY info on this.
you may need to attach the blue antenna and blue remote wires on the pioneer wiring harness to the blue wiring on the aftermarket wiring harness
if i remember right been a while since i did a HU in a 350z
you are putting pioneer head in a 350 z and your using a pac wiring harness ???

First of all we need to know which headunit you are installing
which module did you order from PAC?
I finished my install with a PAC-ROEM NIS2 module and Pioneer Avic D3 in my Bose 350z and it didnt have any issues at all. Your install should be similar so it should work, you wont need to replace the speakers.
I would go in order (may seem silly)
1. Check radio fuse (amp fuse as well, it should have one) My old car had the horn and amp fuse together so my radio worked but the amp fuse kills all the sound so its critical).
2. Plug in head unit to see if things work properly. If everything works with the bose HU, then go back to the aftermarket hu and make sure all of the wires match up.
I can just quickly try to tell you how mine was installed. There are a lot of guides out there as well with pics but just makes sure that you used the high power connections of the pioneer unit, meaning you didnt use the RCA connectors. The pac module is meant to be wired directly to the high power cables of the pioneer HU, these wires will be an 18ga cable and various matching colors that have to be soldered on the matching PAC cables.
As for the other user's suggestion, thats only if your radio signal is poor, the blue cable simply turns on the stubby antenna amplifier. You will see a green cable i believe that is taped to the radio antenna, that cable needs 12V, i had it connected to my ACC so its on whenever the car is on and that just clears up the radio antenna signal.
When i installed my avic d3, all of the wire outputs from the unit matched up with the pac module perfectly so it worked like a charm when it all clicked together.
Good luck & keep us posted

thats why he is using a PAC module to match the bose frequencies. It will work without it as well and not damage anything but it may get static etc. I used a PAC just to be on the safe side and its not an extremely expensive option.
