Default elemental designs subs

Well it's taken me the better part of a year to get my system in. I'm now about to put in the subwoofer. I was originally thinking of going with a single Diamond Audio M6 in a sealed box under the strut bar. I like Nazaar's enclosure but I'm trying to keep the price down. I was thinking I could make a box out of MDF as others have done on this forum and add trim pieces to give the general appearance of the Nazaar box. The DA M6 calls for a .75 cubic foot box it is also kind of pricey. I looked into other options and found some good feeback on elemental designs 10" A and O series subs. These are designed for .50 cu. ft. sealed boxes. This size is a lot easier to accomplish under the strut with a flush finish. Does anybody know anything (first hand) about these subs. I plan on powering the sub with a Memphis Studio 1000D amp so I can go with either the A or O series. I am also more concerned with SQ applications. I have searched this forum and many others for info so I'm more interested in first hand experiences. If anyone owns or has heard these I would appreciate any feedback you can give.
TIA
Ozz

Elemental Designs is one of the best bang for the buck subwoofers you can get!

ED A series are one heck of a deal. The small box design calls for tons of power...but the Memphis amp should be more than up to the task.

I have heard a ED12A in a 26Hz box .. sounded excellent ... better than the POORLY installed 13W7 we compared it to. It also sounded better than my old Tempest or Audiomobile MASS 2012. I can't say that the 10A will be just as good, but I know that ED makes a quality driver. let us know what you choose

Do a search for my install, I had a custom install under my strut bar with 2 10ks and it was awesome. Nice and tight sounding Bass, you cant go wrong with it.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I appreciate the feedback. The Tech guy at ED said I will not be disappointed with either the A or O series. He also said either one can be put into the .50 cubic ft. sealed box. I may go with the O series just because it has a shallower mounting depth. I afraid the A might be a bit tight for the box I planned for under the strut bar. I'm going to attempt to do it myself. If it comes out looking crappy I'll have to save up and get a Nazaar box.

jabroney I did see your 10 K install it looks very slick. Sounds great too I suspect. That' s nice work I can't remember if you said you did that yourself or not?

Jim RHIT Yeah the amp I have and the small box size. I think it all works out to be a good solution in my case. Just have to decide on A or O I want the A but Ineed to see if the depth will fit It has a huge back end sort of like the JL W7 does.
I'm real happy with the sound the system so far but I can't wait till I get the sub in.

I let you know what I decide. When it's done I'll try to get my hands on a
digital camera and post some shots.
later,
