Default Spray foam to seal sub?

Hey guys, I have a kicker free air sub in the stock bose location. To install it I simply drilled holes into the metal and screwed the sub down to the metal. The sub sounds good for the most part, but because I couldn't screw down every portion of the subwoofer to the metal one portion of the sub vibrates like crazy against the metal.

Question is could I use some type of spray foam/caulk to prevent that portion of the sub from vibrating? Making sure that the foam would not hurt the sub itself, because I have heard silicone based caulk (not sure about foam) can harm the material the speaker is made of. Or perhaps there is a better way to mount the sub to the stock location?

Thanks for any help/suggestions.

absolutley not.

Apply bead of pure 100 percent silicone to the back of the woofer tab ( ONLY if the surround is not foam) and reapply the screws. youll be fine. also the woofer does not need to be sealed.. its not meant to be sealed.

I didn't mean the actual sub needed to be sealed. Just didn't know how else to describe "sealing" the area where the sub is attached to the metal surface.

What do you mean by the surround is not foam? The sub itself or where it is attatched. I believe the sub has some foam around where the screws are put in at.

I just re read. I assume you didn't remove the necessary panels to mount the sub fully..otherwise it wouldn't rattle. A simple light gasket would fix this.
The foam surround can be damaged by the gasses produced by the silicone.
