the only thing that a radar detector is good for is the local cops and if you are on the highway then there is no use for one because the state troopers can clock you left to right and your radar detector won't tell you anything. they are coming out with a radar detector that will read state troopers in feb i think.

And I doubt they have the funding to equip every single unit they have with the new radar . My v1 saved me millions of times on my trips to vegas n back!

I'v got a K40, I'm not sure how they comapair to the V1's. I read lots of good thinks about both. I ended up goin with the K40 because they will pay any speeding tickits you get within the first year of purchase. K40 also makes a version that goes behind your front grill and rear bumper. Warning lights are installed in the intsturment cluster. Also they make a laser diffuser which deactivates the laser the police use. Great products pretty expensive though.

Are you positive they will pay ANY ticket within the first year? I highly doubt this. Most companies claim this, but the fine print also states you cannot be going more than like 10 mph over the limit. If the K40 truly held up this claim, there's nothing to stop people from slamming on the brakes when the detector goes off or keeping it below 100 mph.

I have just bought the Escort.
Good for K, Ka.
Lots of interference on X.
Didi not spot laser even when police were checking a car on the next lane from about 100 feet.

If it didn't spot the laser then that probably means that the officer had a steady hand and didn't miss the other car thus not hitting your detector to set it off. Laser is difficult to detect, especially at that range, if you're not the target.
