Default component speaker advice

Hi, I would like to build a not too expensive and good sounding sound system in my z. Actually I don't know that much about speaker's brand and amps. I want to buy 2 pairs of components with a 4 channel amp, a 10 inches sub (mounted behind driver seat) with a mono amp.

I was looking for maybe a complete pioneer system ( component ts-d) but I think some of you knows better sound system brand and models.

I am not looking for power... what I really want is a very clean sound system.
2000 $ is my cash limit for the complete system

Plesase suggest me some of your favorite component, sub ad amp models...

thank you

Default hi there..

yep, 2k will get it done. And very well at that.... buying high quality components on ebay can save you a ton, and since youre buying the best, warranty concerns are usually nil.

Overall sound quality and look will be quite close to factory Porsche 997 system sound, not to mention will add a very minimal amount of weight to the car, while taking up ZERO space.

  • SQR cubby enclosure-$120 shipped.. ebay
  • JL 13tw5 subwoofer- 349 shipped--ebay
  • Alpine PDX5 5 channel digital amp $349 shipped - ebay
  • Boston Pro 60 SE components ( front) $389 shipped- ebay
  • Boston Sr65 coax for rear ( or none at all) $149 shipped - ebay
  • Alpine IDA X03 in dash i pod controller ( deck.. no cd.. who needs it) $160 shipped-ebay.
  • Apple Ipod 160gn 6th gen..used $150 shipped.. ebay

Your at about 1700 bucks, and after installation, you'll be right at 2k. Even les if you already have an ipod of your own.

This will be a FANTASTIC soudning system.. and will also be very OEM stealthy.
The amp is very high quality and not too overbearing, but is almsot the exact size of a ream of copier paper.. goes under your passenger seat.. done.. no brainer.

The front mids are of EPIC quality.... and will make the entire system shine.

The subwoofer will be installed behind your drivers seat inside the panels and cannot be seen or stolen.. and its very loud and tight.
The ipod can sit in your glovebox and be controlled by the dsah unit like factory.

I swear to you, if you simply buy these items and ahve them installed, you will be amazed... ive been doing car audio for a VERY long time.. and i only like to use what WORKS, sounds PERFECT, what never BREAKS, and what BLENDS in to the car.

thank you bmccann101 , i already have the headunit (pioneer fh-p8000bt) and the ipod .

Do you guys think that it is a good idea to put components in rear speaker space or I am better to go with coaxial ... does it worst the money ???

Please suggest other setup -» many opinions are better than one

complete and total waste of money. And the installation would look poor having a sep tweeter back there.
Welcome to the Z.. almost zero need for rear fill. The prioducts i reccomended are extremely high quality, look rgeat, will not overwork your OEM nissan electrical system and I ahve several of those items in my own car. I went much farther than 2k, but still, the idea is the same.. the items i reccomended will surely go in my next vehicle as a daily driver.

just saw the part about already having the ehadunit etc.. then you can upgrade the amp situation then..
possible look into an ALPINE 4.100 and an ALPINE 1.600.. i still think its more than you would need.. Id stick w the items above and save the rest of the leftover cash. The Bostons dont NEED any more power then the PDX5, and neither does the JL 13" flat subwoofer.

Rear sound stage is such a waste of money...

Good set of components in the front with kick pods = $$

Couldn't agree more with the rear fill being worthless. Check woofersetc.com clearance section, once in a while they have got some great stuff in there for really good prices, got my polk mm6 components for about 1/3 of the retail price. Good luck!
