Angry To those with big stereo installs, how to prevent hatch rattle?

I know lots of you guys have big stereo installs with your subs placed at the rear brace, facing towards the rear hatch. Do any of you guys have the problem with the hatch/rear mirrors rattling/vibrating like crazy at high volume, and if so does anyone have a remedy for this? Thanx in advance

Oh yes, I definitly have the problem. Did 100sq ft of dynamat help? Yes, but there is still some rattle. As ghetto as this is, turn your bass up and then try to locate (while inside the car) exactly where the rattle is coming from. Then get some soft high-grade toilet paper and fold it into a thick, small piece and put it between the two pieces that rattle. Works great, stays in place, and nobody knows it is there (make sure it cant be seen).

Try tapping on panels inside the car with your fingers to isolate rattles. A common exterior rattle is in the license plate.

one area that vibrate the most if the plastic cover underneth the hatch. Especially the thrid brake light! I dynamat that area completely and use the foam tape around the third brake light... it will help cut down on the vibrations..

My only rattle is my rear license plate, and my damn plexi-glass amp rack cover. Very annoying.

I used a box of extreme dynamat.

my worst rattle is my rear bumper. I had someone (on another forum) suggest that I remove the bumper and dynamat the inside of it.

I just might have to give that a try.

All of the trim rattled around the inside of my hatch.

I popped it all off and bought some of that adhesive foam from Home Depot. It's about 1/2" thick and has adhesive on one side; comes on a roll.

I stuck it all on the inside of the plastic. All my rattle is gone now except for the 3rd tail light. I need to do something about that.
