Car amp and speaker wiring questions
I have this amp http://ampguts.com/forum/hifonics-12...-olympus-2486/ and 2 pairs of 6.5 speakers at 4ohm and a 6ohm DVC sub running at 3ohm.
My question is... can I hook one pair of 6.5's into a 2ohm load and run it on channel 1, and the other pair on channel 2, then bridge channel 3 and 4 and run the single sub?
I'm trying not to use another amp just to run the sub. Don't want to spend more money.. just trying to use what I already have.

zero point.. run the amp to your sub and your fronts and run the rears off the deck.. fade far toward the front anyways.
msot replies you get will surely confirm this.. then you can always upgrade alter, but thats the least rigged way to do it w what you have.

depends on how much your deck puts out RMS, and what the RMS range is on the speakers.
most mainstream aftermarket speakers (coaxials, that is) tend to work fine on lower RMS wattage put out by the typical aftermarket head unit. the AVERAGE person putting new speakers/head unit in their car tends to go for just that...head unit and speakers, often foregoing an amp or sub/amp setup.
as long as you're not trying to play them really loud off deck power, you won't be doing any real damage. keeping it faded mostly to the front is a good way to accomplish that.

i would never run speakers from the Deck, they will never get there full potential and sound like ****..Try it before running all the wires, you will see..
if it was me, i would do just what you said, run the 6.5's to the 1st 2, and bridge the last with the amp.. just adjust the 1st and 2nd channel to accommodate component speakers, and the bridge 3 and 4 - the sub.. you should be able to adjust all 4 channels.
