with our cars as far as outlaw , it will be loudest with both windows up and faning the driver door between 2-4 inches , reving to 1500 rpm , taking off your headrests, placing your sunvisors against the glass , i have done all this man , save you some time
also if your port is just right outlaw and legal scores should only be 2 db or even less difference
if you are getting larger differences than that then there is a port issue either to much port or to little port

well i got all my wood cut. i am sitting here waiting for my second btl to show up today. i will be taking pictures and starting to assemble the box. these cars would be perfect if it wasn't for there awful strut bar design.
well thanks for all the info, 350zspl.
i also got a quote from mechman on a 270amp alt. i'm gonna look around at a few other places and see who has the best deals.

check out wrangler alts , i have been using them for many years , 1st on my 5.0 mustang, than on my 96 impala, now on the 350z
compare price against the mechman , also compare what the alt does at idle roughly 1000 rpm so you will know what your feeding your batteries when at a traffic light for instance on daily driving, also compare at 1500 rpm the highest you can rev when metering outlaw, as well as at driving speed 2500-35000 rpm

Do you have enough room for the port to breathe? Port looks a little small. How far back does the box sit (does it go pass and under the strut bar?). I've always been a fan with sub up port back with hatch vehicles.
350zspl do you have pictures of your setup?
I've been feening for a system and I may get back into the spl scene soon! It sure is a money pit..

yes i have a big enough port, it looks small because it's only 2.75"w x22.5d = 61.875 divided by 3.9= 15.8 sq inches of port per cube. the port does sit about 2" underneath the rear strut bar.
please explain to me how you would do a sub up port back in a 350z? it really wouldn't be possible with a box my size. also 350zspl said he has his best luck with sub up port up. i also had awesome results with the single btl sub and port up.
now this isn't really a spl or burp setup but i want it to still get loud and play low. i would like too see around 150 on music. now if i don't reach that i will be fine with that as long as it's loud to the ear and moves some air.

Yeah I don't see exactly how it'd be possible to run sub up ports back. Maybe some precision aero ports would work. How about H/O, Mean Green, Iraggi, Excessive Amperage, Ohio gen alternators? What kind of quotes did you get?
350ZSPL great looking setup! From the 3-way front setup I figured it would be a active setup. Is that a DD 3515?
Ehsan I used to have a similiar setup with an 18" but not FI it was a RE XXX..had to take my back seats out of my little integra just to fit the box in.

you can do sub up port back but not with 2 12"'s
sub up port up works really well , also sub up port to side of the rear bottom corner or the box on the driver side like 1 12" and 1 6" aero port
i am running the front stage off a T5002 at 2 ohm like almost 1000 watts they share, digital design 9515 G series is seeing about 4000 off the gp 3000 d , i have another new gp 3000d in my closet i could strap them together , but i already did the 10,000 watt thing

it's all in. now time to save for the upgraded alt. this amp is pretty efficient i would say, volts sit around 13.8 at full tilt. some select songs drop it too 13v for a quick second.
i call this box "scrappy" it's def not something to look at but it does what i want it to. i will post a video in a couple days so i can show you what it's doing.
also i played it full tilt for a good 7+minutes demoing it for a few friends and the subs didn't even get the slightest bit warm. they are laughing at the power for now.
