Default new audio advice

well i have owned my 350z 2005 base for a couple of months now and my only issue is being the sound system. i feel i could be a cleaner and louder system with more base too. also i would like to be able to hook my phone and/or ipod to play music off of there. if you could either give me this advice or a link to a prior discussion that would be awesome thanks

Yeah man it's all about what you wanna spend.

If you're on a REAL tight budget, and your main concern is hooking up an iPod, I would just get a new head unit for around 120 bucks.

I would def. go ahead and buy speakers all the way around however. Component speakers upfront, and coaxials in the back. I had Alpine Type R's all the way around and they were amazing.

If you're really wanting to get some juice out of your speakers you will need an amp. You can either get a 2-channel and amp the front, or a 4 channel and amp all 4.

If you really want BIG bass, it's gonna cost more. A decent sub setup will probably run an extra 300 bucks minimum if you do all the work yourself (which is very easy to do) so just gotta decide if it's worth it to you.

Needless to say, they will give you as much as you want w zero relation to your actual income.
The fact your being proactive is far more than i can say i did.

OP, im done thread jacking you.

If you start w crap, youll get crap in the end.
Buy a few set of SPR Alpine mids, and call it a day for now.
for 1800 bucks.. pause for a moment.. i will return after building you a system.. you owe me part of that 1800 bucks now too btw.. jk.

I would go with really good 2-way component speakers in the front, coaxial (or nothing) in the rear, an external amplifier, a SubW, and aftermarket H/U.

Your budget easily accommodates the components listed above.

I have two 12" kicker comps running off a 1000 watt amp. To do this you need a big box so I gutted out my trunk by taking out the spare tire and all that plastic below it. My box is sitting on the metal on the bottom. It bumps

Hope you're ready to spend a good amount of money. I did a nice budget build, and it all totaled to around ~$2000

This included ripping out all the BOSE crap.

Component set up front
Midbass in rear
Kenwood DNX GPS/iPod headunit
4-channel amp
Mono amp
Sound deadening
Speaker spacers
1x 10"Subwoofer
Subwoofer box
Wiring

OP, yes you can add a 2nd sub.. that amp will be fine.
they make that box for 2 tens as well i believe, just look around in that ebay store.. it will add to your cost of course.. buying the bostons instead of the extra sub would be a much better idea.

Im telling ya, im like a 6 n a half foot yoda when it comes to this stuff.. trust me and buy it you must.
haha.
