Default Amplifier wiring

So- I've got an '04 with the Bose stereo (no nav). I'm looking to replace the factory sub/amp ONLY and maintain the factory HU. I've read a thread that said a LOC (like the PAC-audio solution) is required and I've read another that said you can splice a line level adapter in with the factory amp lead-ins.

I'm looking to keep with as "factory" a look as I'm able. But don't mind routing/hiding "new" wiring. So far the list is just;

-Rockford Prime R2D4-10
-Rockford Prime 250/1
-SRQCustoms box Nissan 350z Vehicle Specific Sub Enclosure 1-10"

I'd really like to go with a mono amp, which was another question I had about the PAC audio LOC, because as far as I can tell they make one for a 4/2 channel amp, but not for a mono.

If anyone has any guidance, I'd really appreciate it.

Skip the PAC garbage, it's completely unnecessary. Get an amp with line-level inputs (most good amps have this as an option), unplug the factory subwoofer and tap your lines into that wire. Use that line-level amplified signal to run your aftermarket amp. Easy as pie.

i will say thats the easiest way, and that LOS are garbage, but youll be hard pressed to find a "Good" amp w line level inputs.
either way, if youre only running the srq and 1 ten off the stock deck, you dont need anything amazing to do the trick. Id find a reasonably cheap amp that doesnt break the bank and roll with it.

goodluck. should be an easy install for any shop.

Thanks very much for the input. I was in a holding pattern 'till I heard something.

np. Even if you HAVE to wind up using an LOC, youll be fine tho, its just for the woofer, and the srq isnt the best location for a sub anyways.. got rid of mine.
unles you have a convertible, then its the only place.
