Unhappy 2x12s? Under bar help

Ok, I really have exhausted the search button here and Google search. Is anyone running 2 12"s under the strut bar? I have found single ones but not two.

I currently have Massive Audio TW 12x2, that I took with me from my dodge ram. They don’t need a lot of air space so the box under bar should be fine. I just can’t seem to figure it out.

Any help would be much appreciated and pics would be the poop!

Here is my box measurments. Granted It wont meet full requirments, but im just looking for a little bump in my trunk lol
BOX DIMENSIONS
14" 38" 18"

SLOTED PORT
Hp Wp Lp
12.5" 3.5" 11

CIRCULAR PORT
Dp Lp
4 x 4" 14

there is not enough room for a sealed box for 2 12 inch speakers under the strut bar, physically or in terms of airspace required.

But hey, either way, sounds like you alreay own them etc.

You certainly dont have the space for ported, and if the box volume isnt dead on, the porting will be dramatically off.

ZERO reason for a ported box with 2 twelves in a 350z.

NOW BACK TO YOUR INITIAL QUESTION..

what is it? Help you build a box? wood cut sheet sizes etc? Cmon man.
May i remind you its the internet. We dont know.

Go to a local shop, have them build youa box for 100 bucks, be done.

Man YOU ROCk!!! Lol
Maybe read just a liitle more.."Is anyone running 2 12s under the strut bar?
Was really just inquiring if anyone has made it happen. But ur right I should have broke it down.
If you are running 2 12s, did you have to run the bottom edge into the spare tire compartment or have fiberglass done to stick them just a little bit out from under the bar. Yea didn't mean to post up port sizing as I will have to do a sealed box because as you stated it won't happen unless I'm a dead eye with measurements, which I am not. Before you go off I already know the subs won't be getting peak performance with a sealed box, but not looking to get into SPL, just some nice thump for my lows in music. I have never built a box but I do want to give a run at it. Doing as much research as I can to prepare myself for it.

theres the spirit.

Be honest.. those two posts DO sound like 2 totaly different people.. they do to me. Much better now.

If you want to run under the strut bar, it will be fairly custom. If you ahvent done it before, I doubt it would look good made in wood too.

As a guy whos had a heavy box even in fiberglass in that area, id advise against going heavy in that area.

You absolutley can feel a top heaviness in corners just in normal driving w such weight so high up.

Go with a single or double ten box and sell your subs.
Hers the kick tho.. buy VERY high quality tens.
If youre dead set on using the subs you ahve, well, id call it temporary and make a simple box to sit in your trunk. If its gna be permanent, you can get far better results witha new set up, even without having to spend much.

Look at ebay, search 350z subwoofer and you will get a ton of ideas, see whats available, and what willa ctually fit n why etc. NONE of them will be ported.

Yea seems like my best route would be to sell the 12s and just get two 10s. But I love the 12s I have and I have found that trying to sell used subs is just hard to do because you never really know what treatment they have gotten. So trying to get $200 for each would be as much fun as finding a box for them lol.

Well I really just don't want a box laying flat and taking all my little trunk space I have now, plus subs facing right at the hatch is just asking for massive rattle.

ah gotcha, well bro if you just want the 2 12s in there, then i got you covered.

and I bought this box and had a jl audio 13 put in it, youl love it, its cheap, and its the most well build mdf box ive actually ever seen, extremely good quality cuts and bonds etc.

i think i paid 140 shipped. its sick, and far lighter than a big ol normal box, but say good bye to the spare tire.

Nice find man. Yea sorry to hear about that system, that system is very clean. I was meaning it would cost ALOT of money for the other box option with the 12s on the side.

Do you have to remove the bar for that flat box you posted? Or is it a kit you put together? I am gonna try and send a PM to the seller for info on both boxes. Just sucks my system is collecting dust in my spare room.

Also kind of sucks that I have to install all this with a line converter as the radio deck is VERY unique and doesn't have RCA connects in the back. Hope it doesnt sound like complete crap or even worse I get vocals out of the subs, which any one that knows subs playing the vocals through them will fry the cones.

its all one piece, theres some edge pieces that fold down, and are atached w the carpet, but like i said its clean and drops in.

I wouldnt say no RCAs makes it unique.. its a stock deck. they suck.. terribly.
And your amp should have a crossover it no? You wont get vocals thru your woofers.
You dont take anything apart except for the spare tire, and some tool kit parts under the false floor.

LOL no mine IS unique. It’s a stock head unit just not a stock 350z one. The car that it is originally in should be released very soon to the public and then I can take some shots of it. Let’s just say the software is usually found in a 6 figure car
The guy who owned the car works as lead tech. engineer for Harman. He is the one who told me I have to stand by before I can share

I'm running two twelves under the strut bar, pretty much exactly like you described and I haven't seen another setup like it. It's half mdf and half fiberglass, basically I built a trapezoid wedge box that fits in the space between the speaker bar and the strut bar and open to the tunnel under the bar. Then I built another mdf structure that consisted of the mounting face for the subs with a few inches of mdf for the sides sort of like you just cut the first three inches depthwise of a box. Then I removed the spare tire and fiberglassed a bottom for the box fit right to the metal frame, and pretty much joined both mdf structures with fiberglass through the strut bar. It isn't perfectly flush with the strut bar, my motors are huge so I had to sit them further out than I had in mind for clearance but they are still sitting pretty much under the bar where I wanted them. It wasn't cheap it cost me over $200 in just materials and many, many hours. It was very complicated there isn't a lot of space to work with and I needed a big box, but now I have a ton of trunk area that I wanted and the subs fire towards the rear which is the best. I haven't seen any other 12's firing towards the rear, most are up like that ebay box. It's loud as hell, I just broke my homelink mirror last week, the aluminum arm just snapped
