Default Steering wheel controls stopped working w/ Pioneer H/U

Well Ive had my Pioneer X920BT installed for about 6-7 months now. I had the PAC module installed from the very beginning and out of no where yesterday all the steering wheel audio controls stopped working except for Volume Down. I had it installed at was is supposed to be a reputable shop in town. When the tech put it in somehow he missed that it was going into a former stock Bose setup which has a differen set of pin locations in the install instructions for the PAC. He told me he ran into some issues at first but wired itin as if I had non-Bose wiring. It worked perfectly up until now so I had no reason to question his method. Has anyone else ran into this or a similar issue with the PAC unit? Could this be an improper wiring issue even though it's been working for so long or does it sound like the module just crapped out? I assume that if the module crapped out I would lose all function. Or could a possibly be a problem between the PAC and headunit not communicating properly? Any help would be appreciated!

Were the connections to the controller soldered or crimped? If crimped, it could be that some wires have come loose.

Have you blown any fuses or disconnected the battery recently? If so, you could have blown circuitry on the PAC controller.

Finally, it could be that you need to re-program the PAC controller because PAC makes garbage and requires attention from time to time (that's my personal opinion, of course).

I was told the connections were soldered but that if I opened up the dash myself later it would void the shop's warranty because of "how cramped the space is behind the dash". Maybe they're soldered but maybe not. No fuses have blown that I'm aware of and the battery was disconnected to install demon eyes about 2-3 weeks before the controls stopped working. I'll the re-programming when I pick the car up from the body shop today and see how it goes. Soo much to do to get her show ready for tomorrow
