Default Factory radio brackets... (sigh)

Just bought a 350Z and the woman before me had the factory radio removed and a single DIN craptastic replacement installed.

The factory radio and mounting brackets are gone, but now that I want to install a nice double-DIN unit I need the factory brackets. Can't find them used anywhere and the dealer wants to physically take my right arm and leg for them.

Someone should have a set laying around... I hope. Please? Let me know and we can chat about it.

Nope, I bought the Metra kit and the Scosche kit and both require that you re-use the factory brackets for a double-DIN unit. I'm hoping to find some in the next week or else I will have to try to fabricate something.

The brackets from the single din should be the stock brackets. Usually you reuse the stock brackets, and just add a pocket below the single DIN.

The single-DIN kit that they used doesn't use the factory brackets. I do not have the factory brackets.

Anyone have some laying around?

If I can't find a set then I'll just fabricate something. If they are that hard to find then I won't hold my breath. Thanks Ish99.

It seems very common that people ditch the brackets, and then end up needing them. This isn't the first time I have seen threads for these.

Yeah, I found a couple other threads when I searched. The fact that they are $35 each brand new is ridiculous.

That site stalled out and wouldn't load, but it doesn't really matter... once you add shipping then it's gonna equal out to the dealer's price anyway.

I am happy and sad all at the same time to see I am not the only one facing this predicament. I was rather surprised when I looked at the installation kit and realized I had to have my factory brackets that I haven't seen in 5 years after I installed a Clarion single DIN unit. Anyway if anyone here has a factory set lying around and is willing to sell them please let me know. I need these things yesterday. Message me please

To the victor goes the spoils may the best man win. I actually am waiting on a call back from a scrap yard here that has 2 Z's in stock...I am waiting to see if they will let me just pull the brackets. Good luck to us both.

Hehe.. .I'm just kidding. I fabricated some brackets but they only work OK... if I come across some brackets I may or may not actually use them. If I find extras I will post them here.

Yeah, they aren't hard to find new... but nobody wants to pay $70 for to little pieces of bent metal, hehe. Thanks for the link, though.
