Too bad they don't make left and right boxes, that way you could run TWO 10"s and not lose any space.
The main reason they don't make a left and right, is so you can still access the spare tire and jack. I am sure they could make one if you wanted one.

This is the best photo I have at the moment.

Hey Cerberus, little off topic but, your door handle surrounds and window switch panels look pretty clean. Have you re-painted them or are you just so careful as to not even so much as breathe on them wrong ?

I keep them clean, as best I can. These photos were taken in the spring, so the car was just out of hibernation, and I can see a little dust on the window switch. I also don't eat a big mac and fries in the car, so that helps.

I was speaking more to the fact that there doesnt appear to be any of the usual nicks and scratches they are prone to because of the god-awful rubbery coating Nissan put on them.

for those worried about rattles from the box, place thick weather stripping where to box meets plastic... problem solved. Maybe some dynamat on the hatch to weigh it down and some behind the license plate.

Yup, 100% correct
Low frequencies need room to develop and be heard optimally. Having a sub less than a foot behind the driver's or passenger seat will not produce the sound the sub was meant to reproduce. Have heard this on many Zs that have tried, both convertible and hard top. The low frequency produced by a sub woofer needs a few feet to develop. That's why a rear facing sub in the hatch bouncing off the glass produces a fuller "boom" Have seen several fiber glassed installations behind the seats that look good, but that's it, they look good.

Decide on a budget and purchase the optimal for your budget. Subs don't lie to you. They tell you how much air space they require. It's like a woman telling you what buttons to push. Yet people still buy subs and say they sound like cr@p because they box built was wrong.
