sub and amp help
i have everything in place just need help with sub and amp wiring and choices
ill be using 2 alpine type r 10".
now the first choice dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm
2 ohm specs:
10" Dual 2 Ohm Type-R Series Subwoofer
Power Handling:
Peak: 1500 watts
RMS: 500 watts
Impedance: Dual 2 ohms
Kevlar reinforced pulp cone
4 ohm specs:
* 10" subwoofer with dual 4-ohm voice coils
* Kevlar reinforced pulp cone with Santoprene rubber surround
* cast aluminum frame with perimeter venting and radial finned heat sink
* frequency response: 24-500 Hz
* power handling: 300-600 watts RMS (300 watts per coil)
1800 peak
ok so i will eaither be getting TWO 4 ohm or TWO 2ohm subs
now on to the amp:

2-Way System Protection circuitry (thermal and speaker short protection)
Heavy duty black anodized aluminum heatsink for extreme heat dissipation
Strapping capability: Strap two Amps together for twice the power
Nickel-plated RCA level inputs
Nickel-plated screw terminals
Variable low-pass filter
1/0-gauge power and ground wiring is required for installation
Specifications:
RMS Power Handling:
4 ohms: 800 watts x 1 channel
2 ohms: 1200 watts x 1 channel
Peak Power Handling:
2 ohms: 1800 watts x 1 channel
1 ohms: 2800 watts x 1 channel
Variable Low-Pass Filter: 50-150 Hz
Subsonic Filter: 15-40 Hz
Frequency Response: 50-150 Hz
Signal-to-Noise Ratio: > 100 dB
Input Sensitivity: selectable 100mV-2V or 2V-8V
Channel Separation: 90 dB
Phase Shift: Selectable 0/180°
THD (Total Harmonic Distortion): 0.01%
Dimensions(L x W x H): 12-3/4" x 11-7/8" x 2-3/4"
i think if i get the subs to run 2 ohms together then i would get the 1200w rms needed is that right is can i do that and how would i wire them ?

Is this a question or a statement? It looks like you figured out which ohm speakers you need to achieve the best ohm load for the amp, so you are good to go! Just remember the power will be divided equally between the two speakers: 1,500 / 2 = 750 per sub.
Yes two 4 ohm DVC subs wired in parallel = 1 ohm. Two 2 ohms DVC subs can't be wired to 1 ohm, only .5, 2 or 8 ohms. All sorts of calculators here: http://www.bcae1.com/spkrmlti.htm
Yes, if you go with the D4 subs, then you will be able to wire it to 1 ohm. If you go with D2 subs then you will be able to wire them to 2 ohms. Becuase those subs are good for 500~ watts rms any amp 1000-1200 watts will be fine. The 1000-1200 watts will need to be @ 1 ohm if your running the D4 subs or your amp will need to make 1000-1200 @ 2 ohms if you run the D2 subs. Have you seen my set up yet? I went from the single 12 to 2 8's

I went with sundown audio SA8s because ive seen a few videos on them and some members on here swear by sundown. I was getting bored of my set up and the box i had was so big and ghetto, i built my own box for underneath the strut bar and im very happy i did.
I'm just doing your basic budget build that anyone can do with accese to already made stuff I started a thread in the audio build but stuff is taking so long with shipping. I'm hoping to record most of the build in 1280p to help the more visual learners where sometimes the pix on builds are alil vague the video can fill in

...easier to find room for the 8"s too.
