Default Kenwood eXcelon Component 6.5" Fit?

Hi Everyone,

Anyone know if this line will fit into the doors without any spacers or other mods? They claim to use smaller magnets for shallower mounting depth. I am referring to the KFC-XR61p and 60p 6.5" model line. Any opinions on sound quality? Where you installed the crossover and if the tweeter fit in the stock location?

I am just starting to scope out my options and am a car stereo newbie. I actually just missed getting the older 60p at a HUGE discount so it peeked my interest. The Kenwood outlet in NJ is closing and was dumping them for only $59. Unfortunately they were out of 6.5". Thanks for any input.

Yes they will fit in without mods or spacers. The tweeters fit behind the factory sail panels just like the OEM does. I think they sound great.

Thanks for the reply. Where did you mount the crossover unit? Is there space in the door panel somehwhere to mount it? Did you screw it in or some sort of adhesive? Any hints on where to get these cheap? I see some on ebay but I am always weary of ebay since I won't be able to test them immediately so won't know if they work.
