Hello,
I went to a local installer for:

1. AVH_P6500DVD HU
2. AVIC-80DVD Nav
3. XDV-P90 6 disc DVD changer

Here are the problems.
1. When I switch to my changer I can play and control audio CDs but not my DVDs from the HU LCD.

2. When I play a DVD from the HU everytime the bass hits I get lines across my screen.

3. When the LCD is close, the little clock display is dim except for the last character on the far right which is bright.

They are only willing to fix 1. but they said the other too is normal.
Is the HU defective? Please help, I want to fix it myself.

BTW there is constant engine noise from the speakers even with the sound mute and when I open my door half way the right door speaker squeak static and goes away.

I am pretty happy with mine. Just got it last week though. So I am still learning the nav system. I could not get the remote to work when attached to the steering wheel.

I do see the lines on the screen when I have the bass really, really loud.

I have no engine noise, that maybe an install problem. Not enough ground, not thick enough wire, etc.

I have the P7500dvd HU, so I can't comment on your dvd changer problem. I don't see why you can't control your dvds from the HU though.

I have the same problem with the display when LCD is closed.

 

Ewwww . . . sorry to hear that. The door speaker may have a prob with the wire being exposed (i.e. not enough wire and it got pinched). Other than that, sorry, I'm not familiar with 'em.
