Default Complete System Replacement 2008 w/ Factory Nav and Bose

I have a 2008 Z with Nav and Bose and I am looking to replace everything except the factory nav. I am wanting to do an aftermarket head unit, new components all around and subs. I have been trying to find the correct wiring harness needed for this install. I am no longing going to be using the factory bose amp or sub due to replacement with 4 channel amp for components and another amp for the subs. Here are my questions...

Is there a special harness needed for this to be able to keep the factory nav working?

Would I be better off using an OEM Integration such as the Memphis 16-6ix?

Is replacing all of this really as hard as it sounds or am I over thinking it?

Thanks for any input provided.

you'll have issues with the voice on the factory nav - there is no harness to hook it up and it won't really work with your HU.

Most people solve this problem by hooking up a different amp/speaker and building a single transistor circuit to trigger the mute function on their new HU

I am in the same boat but haven't done anything about it yet.

A lot of headunits come with better Navi. One option is to get one of those, disconnect
the Factory Navi and leave the screen there for looks.

The factory nav connects to the headunit using a single harness. The nav is only dependent on your factory headunit for its voice features. Simply disconnect the harness and leave it unplugged. You wont have voice, but your navigation will work just fine.

Thanks for all the replies. I hope to be getting a move on my system soon. I have my amps already and currently looking for which subs I want to go with. I'll post pics when complete.
