Infinity 6002i - Surprisingly good
This past Saturday, I've put in a pair of Infinity 6002i Reference in the doors. I used the original factory spacers. Cut out the old Clarions and soldered wires from the speaker contacts to the spacer ones. I had to do a bit of shaving off the edge of the speaker hole area for the raised height. Worked like a charm after the grills were put back on. I also disconnected the factory tweeters.
The speakers sound great. I was worried about the loss of mid bass, but these were pretty solid in that area. You do not need the factory tweeters. These speakers have great highs. I had to turn down the treble. There is really no need to put in components. The factory tweeter area and the mid woofer area are too far apart. Two ways will give you good imaging. Pointed up, it sounds like it's coming from the front.
