Installing a new deck
Hi Everyone,
I already have a single din aftermarket radio. I want to upgrade it with a better one. Do I need a new wiring harness? Does anyone have an installation guide?
Thanks.

Provided the original installer didn't butcher everything, no you don't need a new wiring harness.
Generally when someone says wiring harness they are talking about the one that connects to the original plug to your bose head unit, and then has a bunch of labeled wires that you connect your new head unit to. All you have to do is take out the old head unit, cut the wires where they are crimped or soldered together, and reconnect to the new head unit.

That would be a problem, as each head unit has a different sort of plug, often even within the same brand, so there would have to be countless adapter configurations made available. Buy a head unit, buy the appropriate adapter harness (to match the car), and do all the connections between the adapter and head unit on your dining room table. There may be a few extraneous connections you still have to make while plugging the adapter/had unit onto the car's harness, such as an amp turn-on lead, antenna amp, etc.
All the cables are usually the same for each aftermarket radio. Just match the colors and connect power and ground.
