Default Axxess Steering Wheel Control Issue

I'm having trouble getting ASWC-1 to fully work with my steering wheel controls.

I have a '07 non-bose. The headunit is Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS.
I wired everything correctly following Axxess's specific instructions for our cars and soldered all the connections.

The basic control like Vol and Seek works just fine, but I can't get the Mode and Pwr button to work correctly.

I tried the manual button mapping to assign the two buttons but no success .

I initially thought my HU is just incompatible, but I just installed the same HU and ASWC-1 in my daily; all the controls are working like they should including Mode function.

Anyone else having the same problem with possible solution?

You have the same problem and I had the Bose controls, only NONE of the Bose controls worked. I purchased the non-Bose buttons from Nissan for about $80, ripped out the steering wheel, manually figured out which wires did which function with a multimeter, bypassed the far end of the molex after the clock spring, re-wired a new harness and hooked it up to the Axxess. It took freaking forever to do and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If I had to do it all over again, I'd just put a blank plate on the steering wheel where the control switches go. You still have to pull the steering wheel to do that, but it'd have been a lot easier.

I have the Axxess unit installed along with the Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD. I used the auto detect method and all the buttons worked fine except the PWR button.

Never tried the manual method though .

My Axxess unit works except for the Bluetooth button (I have Touring). It would be nice if it could be programmed to mute, but asides from that, I only ever use the Track up / down and volume so I don't really mind.

Thanks for the inputs.

I contacted Axxess and their tech can't really provide any helpful advice either.

I'm considering to do the same.

Their customer support is no help at all.

I tried all the functions in the unit using manual mapping, and here's what I find.

1. Volume Up (works)
2. Volume Down (works)
3. Seek Up (works)
4. Seek Down (works)
5. Source/Mode (behave like mute)
6. Mute (works)
7. Preset Up (don't do anything)
8. Preset Down (don't do anything)
9. Power (don't do anything)
10. Band (works)
11. Play/Enter (don't do anything)
12. PTT (don't do anything)
13. On Hook (don't do anything)
14. Off Hook (don't do anything)
15. Fan Up (don't do anything)
16. Fan Down (don't do anything)
17. Temp Up (don't do anything)
18. Temp Down (don't do anything)

Update: I ripped out the aswc1 from the car that was working. The mode finally works, and I had a defective unit all along.
