Yeah I understand about the distraction aspect. I really just want to hook it up this way for the novelty of it. I figure if i am going to connect the camera and my head unit has the button dedicated to accessing the camera then I would like to hook it up and enable that feature.
What i have come up with is i am going to connect the reverse light to the camera power to the headunit reverse sensing wire
i am also going to hook up acc 12 volt to a switch to the same bundle of wires and put a diode in so that when i hit the switch and turn on the acc 12 volt to see the camera the reverse lights won't go on.

 

Has anyone tried to add a back up camera to a 03 with Bose 6 cd head-unit with Navigation?
