so got this alarm system like 5 yrs ago with remote start and tilt sensor. worked great and perfect!

but these days sometimes when i remote start it.. it says TRUNK OPEN on the key fob and the alarm goes off..

any ideas???

the shop that installed it is gone

 

i actually have a version of the same thing. I had a similar issue and it ended up being a bad pin on the brain. Luckily I got mine swapped out through viper but they do require a receipt of purchase to make sure that it was through an authorized dealer. For me i was lucky and actually install for a living and was able to do the work myself. Hopefully if youre not comfortable you can find a local shop that wont break the bank for you.

 

Hmm pin on brain. So need to get a whole new viper unit or just replace a pin?
