Ground wire for radio wiring harness
Hey everyone. I installed my in dash DVD last night and everything went good except one thing. I'm not getting sound out of my rear drivers speaker. This may have been like that before I installed the new unit cause the sound system sounded like crap kinda before, but I forgot to check if all of them were working. When I connected the wiring harnesses, I only connected one black wire to the factory harness from one of the wiring harnesses, not both. Just wanted to make sure this isn't the problem before I go and buy new speakers. Hope this makes sense and thanks for any help.
The ground wires on the Nissan harness are obsolete. You get your ground from the antenna, or if you ground the ground (black) wire behind the dash. If you're certain you connected your rear speakers, then more than likely they're blown. If you're going to pull the dash apart again, take an OHMeter to the rear speaker leads and read the OHMs. It should read 4ohms if they're still good.
Rear speaker was blown. Replaced them with kicker ds65's. Amazing difference. I would not recommend unplugging the rear speakers like some have suggested. Just replace them with some decent speakers.
How do you like them? Im thinking of replacing my rear speakers with those exact ones. I had a pair of 6x9"s in my Civic and I loveddd the sound! Great speaker for the money.
Are they too "loud" compared to the front?

I love them. I can actually drive with the windows down and hear my music. You can hear them fine but they aren't over powering. I don't know why someone would just disconnect them.
