Default Help! with this sale I made.

I recently got an aftermarket stereo, so i decided to sell my old stock 2008 350z head unit (non-bose) to a guy on this site.

The reason he wanted the stock radio is because he bought his Z with an old ugly aftermarket stereo.

He got the radio today and he said it's not turning on and he thinks it is due to a "security lock code" I searched all over my manual for such a code or even a remark about it and i found nothing, I even gave my dealership a call to ask them if they could somehow retrieve it. They replied with saying: the 08 350z's don't even have security codes.

Could it be the wiring in the guys z that was installed to the after market is not compatible with the stock head unit?

or anything else?

The mistake he made was buying a factory radio when updated replacements are so inexpensive

If the radio worked when you sold it, I would think it is a wiring problem on his end.

Here is one thing i have come to learn. most try to do installs on their own which is a good thing and the fun of owning a car like the Z. but in some cases guys screw up stuff.
If you knew for sure your radio was working then there is a chance that whoever installed the aftermarket radio in his car did not do something right or he is
not doing something right. There is no radio code in the Z. Ask him to do a bench
test and see if it turns on or not (with an external battery). In fact it is always a good idea to bench test a radio before installation.

Was the wiring harness cut on his end?
